Much is in the works for the summer of 2008

January 16th, 2008 | by Crash the Conventions |

organize! On August 24-28, 2008 the Democrats will hold their convention in Denver, CO and shortly afterwards the Republican Convention will take place in St. Paul, MN from September 1 to the 4th. An extensive organizing effort is already underway for mass protests at this year’s Republican and Democratic National Conventions. There a million reasons to protest these conventions. Neither party is serious about ending the occupation of the Middle East. Neither party is offering not-for-profit universal healthcare. Both parties are in the pockets of big business.

Right now national groups are forming to organize around the conventions, as are local groups. New coalitions and alliances are being made, marches and festive parades being planned, and some are even making plans to blockade and disrupt the conventions. All this 9 months before the conventions are planned to even take place. This summer will certainly see two of the biggest coordinated demonstrations in recent years.

CrashtheConventions will keep you up-to-date with new developments and provide an inside look into the organizing effort.
