Unconventional Denver Calls for Super Tuesday Protests
January 31st, 2008 | by Crash the Conventions |
Unconventional Denver is calling for protests and other actions on “Super Tuesday“, the day when 24 states will hold their presidential primaries. These sort of build-up actions have the potential to really set the tone for the protests at the two conventions this summer. I guess we’ll have to what to see what happens in the coming days…
From Unconventional Action’s email list:
**CALL TO ACTION**
On Super Tuesday, We Vote No!
Called by Unconventional DenverOn Super Tuesday, February 5th 24 states will be holding their primaries
or caucuses to choose Republican and Democratic presidential candidates.
While the state insists that change comes from us handing over our dreams
and passions to the political elite, Unconventional Denver will be sending
a clear message to the city of Denver, the Democrats and the country that
We Vote No. We vote no to the candidates on the slate, the Democratic
Party and to the corporate two-party system itself. There will be banner drops and other creative actions taking place around
the city rejecting the state and its upcoming conventions. We invite fellow Unconventional Action groups and other anti-authoritarian
groups and individuals across the country to carry out similar banner
drops, wheatpasting sprees, street theatre, caucus crashing and other
creative actions in opposition to the two-party system and to build
momentum for this summer’s mobilization against the conventions. Some banner suggestions include:
-WE VOTE NO!
-UNCONVENTIONAL ACTION
-WHOEVER WINS, WE LOSE
-DISRUPT THE DNC!
-CRASH THE CONVENTIONSFor some inspiration, check out the recent action taken by Milwaukee
anarchists- http://mke.indymedia.org/en/2008/01/209062.shtml Our future is not at the caucuses, the primaries, the conventions or the
ballot box. WE VOTE NO!

your group and all the other protest groups are pretty disgusting. This tim Simons guy sounds like some kind of nut case. Imagine him saying he doesn’t want history to remember the convention as running smoothly. What kind of nasty talk is that. A normal person doesn’t wish ill will on anyone or anything. We want our city to shine and to be remembered as a city with no trouble and violence. We are not a bunch of hooligans here and we want people to enjoy themselves and want to come back again. If all you want to do is cause trouble then take it somewhere else. We don’t want your kind of trash here. The police are not gearing up for confrontation; if there is any trouble it will be caused by you and the other crazy group Re-Create68. Then you find an excuse to blame the police, when all they are doing is trying to keep the peace and respect the people. I wish the cops were tougher and if it were me you would all be in jail for causing trouble. All you liberals are ruining this country, but you don’t care, because all you have in your hearts is evil.

This country would never have been formed except for a few people who knew England did not care about the citizens here. There would be no need for protests if we had politicans who cared about the people more than their self interests. Todays politicans almost totally ignore the constitution. The 16th and 17th amendments should be repealed and the 10th should be inforced. People who ignore history tend to repeat it.
